Greetings from New Zealand (English post, mein Deutsch ist nicht sehr gut)

Hello everyone - My name is Richie and I come from the deep south of New Zealand (Dunedin, on the lower east coast). I recently bought myself a 1991 718 ex Isle of Mann fire rescue unit and it is my new hobby to keep my smile wide, and my wallet empty. The truck was brought to NZ nearly 10 years ago and whilst I can find a few small posts on this forum that possibly relate to the vehicle, I would love to reach out to anyone familiar with it to learn more about its past. Fortunately, the previous owner had a lot of expensive work undertaken on the Pinz, so I am lucky that a lot of possible issues have now been prevented. Apologies Brett if you see this - i'm posting one of your pics of the Pinz as I havent got a better one!

Looking forward to being an active participant here, and hopefully I can improve my German language at the same time!

Hi everyone,
I have officially had my 718 now for over one year! I have put nearly 1500km on it in that time which I agree is not a lot, but the fuel consumption has to be considered, especially in the last two months.

Lorenz - you mentioned getting the birth certificate from Graz, how might I do that? Apologies if I have missed an obvious post in the forum, I am still using the translate function on most posts.

G'day Richie! I'm almost certain your Pinz is one I saw in a Youtube video a while back, where the owners (a couple) did a tour of its insides and outsides. Does this ring a bell? If not I would try to find that video, it might be helpful to you.
